Born and raised in Austria, I received a Ph.D. in Exercise Science, a Master in Exercise Science with a Minor in Sports Management and a Track&Field Coaching Certification from the University of Vienna in Austria.
For many years my research focus was physical fitness testing in children and master athletes. I was a research assistant at the Institute of Exercise Science of the University of Vienna in Austria. Over the years I’ve taught university couses in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Weight Training, Exercise Science, and many more.
After I moved to the USA in 2009, I became a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine.
Certifications with ASCA as a Swim Coach, and USAT as a Triathlon Coach were base of many years of swim and triathlon coaching. I successfully helped numerous age groupers to conquer the finish line – in Europe, Australia and the U.S.
Ever since becoming an ISSN Certified Sports Nutritionist with the International Society of Sports Nutrition my coaching focuses on Weight Management and Healthy Nutrition for Active Adults.
For 20 years, I got to participate in sailing, dirt-bike and triathlon competitions across the European region and North America.
Maintaining my own disciplined training approach and dedication to my job made it possible to understand my age group athletes even better.
My carreer included a bronze, a silver and a gold medal at the European Enduro Championships for Women being sponsored by Austrian’s motorcycle company KTM.
2015 I had to end my competitive career due to medical reasons. Ever since I continue to enjoy trail running, road cycling, MTB riding, nordic walking, weight lifting and SUP paddling at a non-competitive level.
Today you’ll find me teaching Biology, Kinesiology and Health and Physical Education classes, like Exercise Physiology and Weight Training, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
In my coaching business gone-training, I support fitness enthusiasts and endurance athletes to reach their training and nutritional goals.
